The Naperville North High School band program has several curricular and extra curricular ensembles that allow students to showcase their talent, dedication, and hard work. There are three curricular concert bands at NNHS: Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Symphonic Band. These ensembles represent the core of our program and where the majority of instrumental music training occurs.

Several extra curricular ensembles are also offered which utilize the core skills built in Curricular Ensembles and include the Marching Huskies, Jazz bands, Pit Orchestra, Show Choir Combo, and Basketball Pep Band. There is truly something for everyone and many of our students participate in several if not all of these ensembles.

The band program at NNHS is one that is recognized not only around the State of Illinois but also throughout the United States. The Wind Ensemble was named an Illinois SuperState Concert Band in 1994, 1995, 1996, 2008, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023. In 1995, DownBeat magazine named the Wind Ensemble the best high school classical instrumental symphonic band in the United States. NNHS Bands have also performed multiple times at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic, the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Convention, the Music for All National Concert Band Festival, as well as many other local and national festivals.
